Christmads Fair

Thursday 26th Nov 2009 @ 8:38 am

It’s starting to get so that I’m waking up in half light and coming home in the dark. That’s ok though, christmas is coming! Tomorrow marks one month to christmas. Are you ready? I had planned to do a whole lot of christmas crafting for family and friends. What I’ve actually done is sign up to participate in a local christmas fair… It’s on the 12th of December.

So… I’ve been being industrious and I’m making many decorations, planning how my stall will look, planning what cakes and cookies/biscuits I will make. It’s frightening and exciting all at the same time.

I tried photographing my decorations but I just can’t do them justice. I’d have another go but they are all wrapped ready to be sold now. I have to be organised you know.

I must be mad to agree to do it at such short notice but it is Christmads!

Here’s the progress on my half finished storage boxes. Picture taken outside in the rain, hence the rain spots lol.

That’s all I have for today.

Winter Blues

Monday 16th Nov 2009 @ 11:47 pm

I’m sure it’s not just me who feels a bit blue this time of year. Just after my birthday but not quite christmas time. Generally I eek out birthday celebrations a few weeks till I am starting to prepare for christmas. This year however, I prepared early thinking I may not have time if the baby come early (we will be back and forth to Grays).

All is not lost though! At work we’ve recent had a new shipment of XDA’s which come in rather spiffy magnetic lid boxes. As soon as I saw these boxes I knew there was an oppurtunity for crafting. I’ve taken home 9 already and currently have 2 decorated sets of boxes looking lovely on our cabinet. They are not quite finished but I will show you my progress soon. I also think they would make awesome gift boxes.

Blues abated!

NB.I wrote this yesterday but forgot to publish oops!

More lovely gifts

Tuesday 10th Nov 2009 @ 8:14 pm

I had a super weekend at Sean’s mum and dads. We spent Saturday night at the Milanes (SIL) with fireworks, stew/caserole and a bonfire in celebration of Guy Fawkes night. I’m usually a bit of a wimp when it comes to fireworks but I managed to stay outside the whole time and even assist some! Go me hehe.

I got a lovely book of cupcake recipes from Saran and the Milanes, a Lush gift set from Gavin (BIL) and Jenn and an adorable wooden sewing box from Sean’s mum and dad. It really is very sweet. If it wasn’t for the fact I am waking up in half light and getting home in the dark I would take pictures.

Then we had Sunday lunch, minus Gavin and Jenn, at Seans parents. Three bird roast, yum!

Lucky us got a bonus gift from Seans mum and dad of Ikea vouchers. These were a belated moving in together gift. I suggested we save these till we move again.

Sean just made yummy onion Bhaji’s for my new low carb diet so I’m going to toodle off to eat.
