NaBloPoMo & Turkey

National Blog Posting Month or NaBloPoMo as its affectionately known
is this month. So I will try and make the effort to post every other day. Try being the operative word here.

So I was thinking about things I could blog about, thought I’d blog about our anniversary and realised I haven’t blogged about our wonderful holiday in Turkey!

We had an amazing time there. I think the first time you go away with someone can make or break a relationship. Luckily for us it was a lovely one.

We stayed in apartments in Armutulan just a stone throw away from Marmaris. Our apartment was on the top floor with balconies off the living and bedroom areas. It was lovely to be able to sit out there in the morning. We didn’t take any pictures of the inside, I guess because we didn’t spend too much time in there.

There are a lot of pictures so if you want to read on click…

The beaches were all this dark volcanic looking sand. It was quite stoney and very hot so no walking barefoot on the sand as Sean soon learnt lol. Some of the posher resorts had had white sand shipped in.

Marmaris Beach

The castle museums was interesting. It’s not actually a castle so that was misleading but it was full of beautiful marble pieces and a lot of interesting things I didn’t know originated from Turkey.

We found this dinky little shop chock full of gorgeous hand painted pottery. We wished we could have bought lots but came out with one small bowl each. (Which we then struggled to fit in our already stuffed suitcase lol). My favourite is the one in the middle. You can click on them for a bigger image

It’s a Turtle!! Don’t tell me it’s not, I’m convinced lol.

Feeding the fish

Clear blue waters in Marmaris bay where we swam and fed the fish. I wish I had a water proof camera!

One of the bays we visited

I’ll stop there as I know looking at other peoples holiday photo’s aren’t that interesting.

PS. it’s my birthday in 4 days!! There will be a giveaway should I finish it in time!
