2008 Bear

Monday 3rd Mar 2008 @ 10:18 pm

2008

Cute isn’t he? Made for mother dearest he stands at around 8 inches tall and will stand unaided. He’s wearing a knitted jacket with “2008″ in intarsia on to the back. I forgot to take a photo of that one.

I’ve decided to give away a similar bear (sans jacket, boy was that a sucker to knit!) for my 100th post celebration. I just have to make it lol. Winner can choose colour and style. So you’ve got a heads up look out for the announcement.

I also made my first lasagne…

Bad lasagne

It was icky lol. The dish was way too big, doh! Oh well better luck next time.

Hope you all had a Happy Mothers day.

Introducing…

Wednesday 12th Dec 2007 @ 4:37 pm

A Mystery Amigurumi!

Or Ama as I have named him. He stands at 9 inches tall and stand he does, all by himself. He sports a rather festive cape. He also should have a Jumper but his little bear chest (Haha) will have to go cold. I made it way too small for his rather rotund belly. He has a cute jingle bell on the end of his hood peak too.

Ama

This is the reason I wanted to start knitting and crocheting again. To bring my many little characters to life.

I also bought some blue so look out for a raindrop plushie to come! What I really want to make though is my very first original characters, Piggy Pals. I’ve yet to find a yarn in the right colourway to do them justice though.

I’ve had very good reviews on Ama so far and though he’s destined for my aunts house. I plan to make more to sell. Possibly a bit late for Christmas. Never mind.

Anyone here interested in purchasing a bear, if any, would you please contact me giving a rough idea of what you’d pay for a toy like this. All enquirers received will get first preference on new toys at a special discounted rate..

My mom is so funny

Saturday 8th Dec 2007 @ 10:59 pm

Saturday night and sitting home doing nothing. Fun fun… I was supposed to be going out but the least said about that the better. So instead I started a mystery Amigurumi. I made up the pattern myself so prepare yourself for a bizarre FO .

Then I happened to get talking to my mom on MSN. She’s net savvy don’tcha know . As she’s about to go she says to me “Do you want banana’s and nut’s in your Christmas stocking?”. Baffled I replied no banana’s or nut’s thanks. Bear in mind I’m allergic to nuts. “Oh” She says “I forgot about the nuts, what’s wrong with banana’s. I have to fill it up with something”. So I ask what’s wrong with satsuma, that’s what we normally get. “Ok” she goes “Don’t roll over on it in your sleep!”. She is so kooky. Speaking of banana’s, I remember one time, when I was about 12, she came running out the kitchen with a banana, drop rolled like James Bond and popped up behind the sofa shooting at us with it. We all just gaped at her open mouthed. Crazy woman. My sister, then aged 4, exclaimed “Someone’s been at the Vimto!” . For you Americans Vimto is a blackcurrant cordial that used to have adverts with rude rhymes and silly bits in.

Any who I’m still on a bit of a downer despite the amusement from my mother so I won’t blog much.

Have you finished all your Christmas crafting??

Pinch, Punch, First Day of The Month

Saturday 1st Dec 2007 @ 3:33 pm

Hello December!

As my new HK diary says . I start the month stuck . I can’t find a face for my doll. I think she should have big eyes but the buttons just don’t look right. Embroidery is not my forte so I don’t think that’s the way to go either. I don’t want to mess up her head. I’m thinking some felt disks may be the way to go so add that to my shopping list. As for a mouth… I always think mouths on fabric dolls look odd. I dunno, I think she looks lovely as is and don’t want to spoil her!

Other than that today is Christmas decorations time! I already put up the Christmas tree bar the lights and star. I wasn’t expecting to be home this weekend. So just the lights for the windows (The kind that fade in and out) and the ceiling decorations (My paper stars) to do.

In the usual starry fashion I wandered off half way through this post to get started. I can’t help it, I love Christmas! Windows are now done lights on tree and I’ll put the star on later when I switch on the lights. I think the windows look especially nice this year. I would go take pictures but my neighbours might think me crazy in my PJ’s, mad hair and all. Besides I think it needs to be dark with the lights on for the best effect. While I’ve got all the furniture out though, going to have a vacuum behind there and pick up all the things (There you are Hello Kitty pen!) I hadn’t even realised had fallen down there. Surprisingly undusty though.

Have a great weekend people!
