Updates!

Wednesday 3rd Oct 2007 @ 10:44 am

Ok I stopped being lazy and last night before I went to bed I managed to take some pics they’re a bit dark due to no natural lighting but oh well.

Starry presents 2 finished items and a bethany bunny update
Without further ado:

Neapolitan Slippers Bethany Bunny update Pretty in Pink Cap

First off my Neapolitan Mary Janes. I kind of looked at a few different MJ patterns and tried to make my own. I have wide feet but they’re small so I had to make some adaptions. I may share the pattern I used it’s fairly simple if you can crochet as well as knit but can be completely knit too.

They are SOOOO warm. I forever have cold feet. Even with 2 pairs of socks I normally am freezing but I can get away with wearing these now. I normally wear my house Ug style boots but they’re not so good for curling up on the sofa. Maybe cream wasn’t the best colour to make them in but I’d like to be able to see when they’re dirty so I can wash them. I may have to knit a few more once I get some more wool ofcourse.

They are knit in a machine washable Sirdar wool blend and are trimmed in mercerised cotton to stop the “neck” part getting lose and flappy. They took around 10 hours to complete start to finish.

Pretty in Pink Kimono Cap – Another pattern I invented myself when bored and wanted to try circular knitting. It’s supposed to look vaguely like one of those japanese traditional caps. The inside is crocheted and it’s made from the same wool as the kimono obviously. It really is a nice pink but doesn’t photograph too well I guess lol.

Bethany Bunny! – Ok I stuffed her body and one arm and ran out of fluff for the second arm so she’s awaiting more fluff. Meanwhile though I started on her dress though I can’t finish till I know how her arms sit. I plan on making her a t-shirt/blouse too.

Then there was Rubens birthday last saturday. Here he is with the cake I made him:

Rubens bday.

What am I working on now? Well I still have the never ending cushion cover, leahs hat (need more wool), more christmas decs, 3 hats for my sister and that’s just knitting. I still have to finish decorating the kitchen, get someone to sort out the garden and run maintenance on ALL the sites I manage. I hate doing maintanance it’s so boring. I spose work isn’t always meant to be fun but still.

Oh and I just got my Sunshine buddy back out.

But it’s doing an odd half hearted jig. I guess it’s not sunny enough to properly power it lol, it’s amusing watching it struggle though haha.

Ok I need to get some kind of food,

P.S. Anyone know how to rotate videos? I took some short clips on my digi camera but ended up sideways lol, HELP!

Have you visited me lately?

Monday 24th Sep 2007 @ 8:12 pm

Ok I added a blog stats thingy so I can see who visits my site and where they’re redirected from. Sounds cool huh? Would be if it worked! It say’s I have had 0 visitors in 4 days. Not only do I know thats BS (People have told me they’ve visited) but I tested going to a netcafe and not logging in and seeing if that worked. It still gives a big fat ZERO.

So… if you do visit in the next few days just comment me or ping me on yahoo or something so I can get some idea if this is working at all.

Oh and Bethany is coming along great! Her body is done and all stuffed I didn’t take any pictures before she was stuffed oops! And I made her a tank top with a “B” on but it was too small So either Beth’s gotta lose some weight or I have to make another. I think I used baby weight yarn instead of DK but it was just a scrap and had no label and I was bored I may make a mini doll for beth and put the tank top on her instead… That’s once I can get past the monotony of stockinette stitching 100 rows again. I’m thinking a blob dolly may be more in order!

I’m back home! Yes we have internet. It was a problem with the router Bulldog haven’t cut me off yet I was cursing them for nothing! Apparently I’ve been moved to pipex instead which is odd cos they never informed me but at least it’s easy. My house sure did get clean while it was gone though . Oh and bad news! Since it’s getting colder we’re starting to get the yearly mice battle going again. Cheeky buggers come up under the flooring in the kitchen. We can’t work out how they’re getting in so all we can do is poison the first few and usually get away with none for the rest of winter. Fingers crossed! I personally think they come from the bathroom as there are BIG gaps in the floor boards but I’m no expert.

I had a perplexing moment today when I was in Primark. I can write about going to Primark now that they have anOxford street store . Any who, out of interest, I asked the assistant how large their bra’s go to. I knew there was no way in hell they’d go up to my size but thought it was worth a shot. So the woman says 42. So I’m like 42 what? She looks at me baffled like. So I ask her what’s the biggest cup size. Oh! she says I think it’s a DD. Why do people not understand bra sizes? I mean you have men who think the bigger the number the bigger the boobs (so wrong) and now a woman who’s perplexed when I ask about bra sizes? We need to start teaching this stuff in schools! Half the girls I know were or still do where the wrong bra size. I myself am a rare size. Small back (32) and large cup ( GG ) but it’s important to wear the right size bra no matter what size you are especially if you excercise or dance. The back should be snug and horizontal to the floor and the cups full but not over spilling. Ok end rant! I really didn’t mean to write this much but was excited at having got the net back / Woot!

Bethany Bunny Begins

Thursday 20th Sep 2007 @ 7:26 pm

k I’m home sick and very very bored. So… inspired by the things at Little Cotton Rabbits, I decided to knit my own.

The reiteration on her name was unintentional but works well I think.I named her after the little girl in Corrie who happens to be sick right now (Mainly because while I started making her corrie was on, sickness warps your telly tastes I tell ya!). Once her body is done she will have little pink cotton bloomers, a summer dress, Mary Janes and a Bow. That’s if I don’t get bored or stuck before then. That’s me in bed again incase you couldn’t tell.

Here are her legs:

The beginnings of Bethany Bunny

I’d like to point out that since I could not find any double point needles ANYWHERE I have resorted to using an odd loop loop method on circulars. I love my pony circulars as they were my first ever set but I’m asking for a pair of Addi’s for my birthday (Only 47 days to go woot ). Not only do they look cool they are sposed to be quieter than the clack of regular needles. I’m going to get a sample pair first though to make sure I like them, once I track some down.

My blog is spoiled lately! Posts most everyday. Once I’m feeling better I’m sure things will get back to normal mwahahaha!
