Woot woot!

The new phone and DSL got connected today. As I was coming home I noticed that there was a guy doing some work on the exchange near my house. So when I got in I checked for a dial tone and it was on. Called my sister to let her know my new number (Sucks I couldn’t keep my old one and it’s one messed up dialing code!) . then decided to turn on my router to check if I had DSL. DSL light came on so I hooked up the PC lol. Very happy now as I was facing a very lonely weekend on my lonesome and with no phone or net to bug people with lol.

I did enjoy the few days I spent at my sisters too. She had Leah for the week and we had fun painting at my sis’s boyfriends new place and running around like mad people in the park. (Video coming soon :)))

She loved her hat which I tried on her to make sure it fit. It fit perfectly! If anything it’s a bit big for her! So it was a happy error.

I also tried the pinwheel jacket on her and it fits nicely but I will need a few more repeats to get it how I’d like it. The pattern is still baffling me though. Might have to just fudge it.

Note the California stitch marker I some how managed to knit into my work! Silly me =)).

Also while I’ve been at a bit of a loose end I finally sorted a curtain for the cupboard in my living room. I even managed to whip up a cushion cover too! I think I did well on my mini sewing machine though I forgot to add a new bobbin at first lol.

Well not quite but I got my installation date. next Monday! woot! So I’ll be back in business. I have a few orders to fulfill too so it’s just in time. I try to keep my business and blog separate as their was a very embarrassing incident a while ago of me linking to a site that I had worked on and them checking their incoming links and visiting my blog! When I next had a meeting with them they asked me if I was feeling better and how I was so young to have a stroke etc etc. I was like wtf? How do you know about that and they explained. I was so embarrassed! :-* So now I’m careful not to link any sites from my blog haha.

I haven’t really missed the Internet as such, just the convenience of being able to look things up online. Such as this pinwheel jacket I am making. I’m so confused with this one step. I’m so close to finishing the body of the sweater too. I don’t want to knit any further though in case I did wrong and need to unravel it. I hate unraveling rows on circular needles. So instead I started on a little matching hat. I may make a scarf too as I have around half a ball each left of each 100g ball and one whole ball of cream I barely touched. Might be a little too cold just to wear the jacket, hat and scarf right now but as it’s a Christmas present I’m thinking it will be perfect for spring time. The hat I made up the pattern for myself so I hope to share that with you all should all go well. I personally think it may be a little on the small side. Oops! I know she’s small for three but I think if my memory serves me correct I was supposed to cast on 80 stitches and I only cast on 70 :(. Only realised once it came to doubling up the stitches and I only had 140. I need a multiple of 8.

Any way, besides that today I had to go to my landlord’s agent to get them to amend my tenancy agreement. I was puzzled and amazed when they told off one lady for letting her baby wander about the office. He told her if she let her baby wander about any more he would throw her out! I was gob smacked. The baby wasn’t doing anything bad at all. Just tottering about, as she was restless from having been waiting for half an hour. The mother and I exchanged looks and just shook our heads in amazement.

After that I went down to BK and had an Angry Whopper which is actually really tasty. I shouldn’t really of had that but I was craving a burger. Giving in to your cravings now and then is ok. Besides, I walked home to burn off some of the fat. While I was out I also bought a hobby craft box cos it was on sale for 5.50. Half price! woot! So I was happy. I love my bargains forgot batteries though. I’m saving on my electric and heat bill being in here hahaha.

I think that’s all really. No pictures cos I can’t install my camera software on this PC. I already installed FF :-sh .

Well I now signed up with Pipex/Bulldog and they say they can connect me by November so long as everything goes without hitch. Annoyingly they have put up their service charges but oh well it’s still the cheapest, fast broadband out at the moment as I don’t need the BT line. I begrudge paying BT, who I hate, 125 quid just to connect me. So fingers crossed Pipex are in fact offering service in my area.

I actually only came online to catch up on my emails and get the pattern for the pinwheel cardigan I intend to make Leah. I have however done all that and still have time, so decided to blog. Leah is going to grow up exceedingly spoilt I think lol. We all adore her. On her birthday she seriously had way over 50 presents not including what her mom got her. Every time I see something that she would look cute in I add it to my list of “things to make Leah”. She’s soon to have competition though as quite a few friends and friends of friends are pregnant now. I wonder if she will start to feel neglected lol. Still I’m quite sure she is still the only girl. Everyone seems to be having boys right now which is a bore for me as knitting for boys is boring. I like adding the flowers and frilly bits. I wonder how hard it would be to knit a tonka truck…

I’ve abandoned the cushion cover. I hate the new colour. It has this purplish tint to it which just doesn’t match at all. The other tan is a warmer colour. Maybe I will felt it and see what can be done with it after that.

The space bar on this PC is dodgy so excuse words that are stuck together that I didn’t notice haha. I type very lightly so forget “stomp” hard on the spacebar when it comes to making spaces.

I’m bored and cold now so gonna go home. We’re having a movie night so I should go clean etc. Can’t do too much cos I injured my wrist but it should warm me up!

It is actually turning out to be a lovely autumn but on the coldside.

Ok after phoning my ISP and them assuring me I’d been moved to Pipex even after I told them I knew of no such thing the bloody basts cut me off last night. I’m really annoyed! aargh If I knew I had to find a new ISP I would have done while I still had the net working making life a whole lot simpler. Especially when I’m sick! Luckily it’s Thursday so I can hopefully get something sorted today and possibly on it’s way to being connected on Monday.

Oh and another bizarre and rather annoying thing happened last night. I got a random phone call from an ex of mine who just dissapeared. Apparently his uncle called him back to Italy which is why he just dissapeared…

So all the phones in Italy were broken? I was kinda sleep befuddled and think I said something along the lines of “Sod off I’m sleeping” to which I think he said I’ll call you back tomorrow (!!!). Dunno why life can’t be uncomplicated for a little while. Pretty please? With a strawberry on top? (I’m allergic to cherries =)) )

At least I’ll have more time for crafting. I’ve been dropping heavy hints to my aunt that I want a sewing machine so I’m hoping I may get one for my birthday. Not long now. Speaking of birthdays I still haven’t booked the venue :O If I don’t do it soon I’m gonna be in big trouble. Less than 4 weeks to go. Problem is they only open from 8pm so by then I’m usually watching Hollyoaks and The War at Home. Then on various days, Brothers and Sisters, Ugly Betty, Skins and Scrubs! That distracts me from making the call and since we have taken to going out for drinks in Stratford now (More central) I haven’t even been down that way. Well, actually I have, but on a Tuesday the only day they’re not open aargh . I’m going to stop waffling now and phone BT for a new line.

Well the reason I started knitting again to convert my origional toy patterns into knit and crochet is proving more difficult than anticipated. I never kept any of my toys myself and I’m having trouble getting anyone to part with theirs so I can chop it up and get the pattern lol. The pattern was lost when I lost my hard drive many moons ago.

I have however invented a few new patterns which are coming along well. Sadly though I found that you need a credit card to start an Etsy account :(. Sad now. I don’t agree to the principle of living on credit which is why I don’t have a credit card nor an overdraft but it restricts me on so many levels I may just give in. It’s all fine and good when you have someones card to *cough* borrow :)) but I no longer have that available to me. Maybe theres a UK Etsy style site? I must investigate… So i’ve been crocheting all day and will hopefully have lots of prototypes by the end. inspirations strikes suddenly!

Speaking of crochet. Now I can I like it marginally more than knitting. I’m more likely to think Can I convert that to crochet than can I convert that to knit now. I have some pictures to add later of some bits I’ve done.

The blasted cushion cover is finally being worked on BUT in a new colour wool. I couldn’t get the same colour so I had to pick a different shade that matches another cushion I have. I’m not sure how well it’s working but at least it will be finsihed and quit taunting me. Oh and I already found my next big project. I fell in love with the kids version and though I wonder I could adapt that to fit a grown up and then saw they have an adult pattern there too. I’ll link it later. Right now I need to fix dinner and reply to the umpteen IM’s flashing at me angrily!

Quickly though…

Otherwise everything at home is as it should be. I’m still addicted to washing clothes :)). Rearranged the living room today since I found the scart thingy for the tv now and my PC doesn’t have to be up so high to reach round. That makes me happy. It was blocking my light :).

I’m trying my best to write in here everyday which was my new years resolution but enough said about that!.

I’ve joined the knitters across britain in knitting little hats for help the aged. It’s a campaign by innocent smoothies and sainsbury’s and I found out about it from Val at DottyCookie So far I’ve made three and their pretty fun to do quick projects. They even have some patterns if you’re not sure where to begin. I however made up my own after the first go.
