Updates!

Wednesday 3rd Oct 2007 @ 10:44 am

Ok I stopped being lazy and last night before I went to bed I managed to take some pics they’re a bit dark due to no natural lighting but oh well.

Starry presents 2 finished items and a bethany bunny update :))
Without further ado:

Neapolitan Slippers Bethany Bunny update Pretty in Pink Cap

First off my Neapolitan Mary Janes. I kind of looked at a few different MJ patterns and tried to make my own. I have wide feet but they’re small so I had to make some adaptions. I may share the pattern I used it’s fairly simple if you can crochet as well as knit but can be completely knit too.

They are SOOOO warm. I forever have cold feet. Even with 2 pairs of socks I normally am freezing but I can get away with wearing these now. I normally wear my house Ug style boots but they’re not so good for curling up on the sofa. Maybe cream wasn’t the best colour to make them in but I’d like to be able to see when they’re dirty so I can wash them. I may have to knit a few more once I get some more wool ofcourse.

They are knit in a machine washable Sirdar wool blend and are trimmed in mercerised cotton to stop the “neck” part getting lose and flappy. They took around 10 hours to complete start to finish.

Pretty in Pink Kimono Cap – Another pattern I invented myself when bored and wanted to try circular knitting. It’s supposed to look vaguely like one of those japanese traditional caps. The inside is crocheted and it’s made from the same wool as the kimono obviously. It really is a nice pink but doesn’t photograph too well I guess lol.

Bethany Bunny! – Ok I stuffed her body and one arm and ran out of fluff for the second arm so she’s awaiting more fluff. Meanwhile though I started on her dress though I can’t finish till I know how her arms sit. I plan on making her a t-shirt/blouse too.

Then there was Rubens birthday last saturday. Here he is with the cake I made him:

Rubens bday.

What am I working on now? Well I still have the never ending cushion cover, leahs hat (need more wool), more christmas decs, 3 hats for my sister and that’s just knitting. I still have to finish decorating the kitchen, get someone to sort out the garden and run maintenance on ALL the sites I manage. I hate doing maintanance it’s so boring. I spose work isn’t always meant to be fun but still.

Oh and I just got my Sunshine buddy back out.

But it’s doing an odd half hearted jig. I guess it’s not sunny enough to properly power it lol, it’s amusing watching it struggle though haha.

Ok I need to get some kind of food, byes

P.S. Anyone know how to rotate videos? I took some short clips on my digi camera but ended up sideways lol, HELP!

A’m all wunged up

Wednesday 19th Sep 2007 @ 1:31 pm

Translation: I’m all bunged up.

Managed to catch a cold. When I think about it I haven’t had one for months but since I’ve had hayfever in the mean time it seems like I only just stopped blowing my nose! So I’m all wrapped up in my duvet on the sofa drinking grape juice and water and taking Ibruprofen which I’m sposed to take any way and little else. Don’t wanna OD now do I?

Now I know why I was in such a foul mood last night for no apparent reason. So not much stuff getting done round here just trying to recover and avoid pissing people off. I have got some lavender oil to relaxe me and send me off for bref naps and hopefully shall all be gone by tomorrow!

Finished one of my crochet hats and tried out some ribbon on it but I think the ribbon is too bright for the tan. What do you guys think?

The finished hatFlattened

As always clicky clicky for full size.

Also i’m not convinced it’s big enough for leahs head :C

I can’t be asked to write more now, arms limp head fuzzy…

Another night on the town

Monday 17th Sep 2007 @ 12:28 pm

So I didn’t mean to but ended up going out again Saturday night but I had to go. An old friend I haven’t seen for years turned up and we wanted to catch up. I had a great time but now i’m broke as a joke =C. Only 2 weeks to pay day…

People weren’t really feeling pictures but I did get these good ones:

Group PhotoA good pic of Carol and Emma

Also i’ve finally mastered the art of Crochet *squees* The book I was learning from had a misprint so for the longest time I just thought i was dumb xD. Now I know I can do it though. I’m making a beanie hat for leah though i’m thinking now it may be a bit on the large side, oops! It’s only my second project so allow me lol. The first was a lace pattern Which had no purpose other than practice.

I can crochet!

Here are some pics of me crocheting in bed. I used Wendy’s luxury cotton DK for the lace and Some wool blend (forget the brand) tan for the hat. I was thinking of edging it in purple and crocheting purple flowers and bobbles for the side but i’m not sure if the purple matches. If not I have a darker tan/brown colour instead And it’ll be leaves and maybe butterflies if I can figure a pattern for that.

I best go do some work and stop procrastinating.

Massively busy weekend!

Tuesday 24th Jul 2007 @ 5:44 pm

lClick for larger imageIt was my god niece, leah’s, birthday on Friday and so I had a hectic day. Up at 7, then off to buy presents (I’m a last minute shopper :|). That with Emma, my sister and Leah’s God Mother. Then Claire, Leahs mother, tells us she wants us to come half an hour earlier at 11:30am while giving us an extra load of things to get. So I had no time to wrap presents! Meanwhile it POURED with rain. I mean torrential. If you saw the London news, you’d see there was alot of flooding. So by the time we get there Emma and I are soaked and we still have to wrap presents.

I bought Leah, Piglets Big Movie and some other Winnie the Pooh stuff. Turns out we all had the same kind of idea and she got masses of Winnie the Pooh stuff. I also got her a big WTP balloon and only noticed several hours later that it said happy birthday xD. This kid is lucky as hell she must have had about 50-60 presents. Seriously inundated with them. We all adore her. She’s a gorgous child.

So once presents were kind of out of the way we set off to the bowling alley. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it but we did and 3 hours flew by. Leah loves bowling so she was entertained until she started getting tired and had a nap.

So after that we went to Brewsters and had a meal. I had scampi and it was lovely and after we had this chocolate fondue and it was gorgeous! I forgot my camera so not many pics in there. Only I take pics of mundane things like food lol. Sadly for Leah the play area closed at 6 so she only got a brief play before it closed.

After that everyone went back to Claires stuffed silly. We sat around drinking tea and watching Leah go mad with her toys and laughing. I may put up a little of the video when I get my copy. Children are all quite mad!

AND after that I went to see the preview of Transformers! AWESOME movie. I really enjoyed it. The special effects were amazing it had everyone ducking in their seats as things looked like they were going to come flying out the screen!

Luckily afterwards we bumped into Dave, a friend and he dropped us home saving us cab fare monies and meaning no long wait in the cold.

THEN on Sunday I had my aunt and baby sis Frankie coming over and I was cooking. We had roast chicken and potatoes and it was yummy but it was knackering!

I think I’m going to throw up now so I think I’ll finish this later!
